Abstract

This paper describes how to use collaborative groups as a teaching strategy in a 200-student introductory astronomy class for non science majors. The authors present a brief rationale for this approach and then describe the implementation details and lessons learned. They also emphasize practical information most useful for faculty starting to include collaborative group activities into their own large lecture classes.
