Abstract

The results of a state-of-the-art research on theses and dissertations defended in Brazil and related to the teaching of astronomy are presented, with the objective of identifying this production and knowing the main research trends in this field. A total of 13 master's theses and 3 doctoral theses were found, which were studied according to the following aspects: institution, year of defense, school level covered in the study, thematic focus of the study and gender of academic work. The aim is to collaborate with the wide dissemination of academic production in the area. At the same time, the study makes possible, based on resulting research, to point out the contributions of this production to teaching and to indicate with needs to be supplied by future researches.
