Abstract

The sophistication of students and the general public has developed to the extent that they no longer expect to find pots of flowers in the planetarium . However, the use of this space-science instrument is often overlooked by teachers of biology. The growing emphasis on environmental education, ecology, and "organisms as part of the whole" makes this oversight even more unfortunate than before.
