Abstract
PAONET, an acronym for "Public Astronomical Observatory NETwork," was started on November 1995. The newest, exciting images related to astronmny are supplied through this network to many local astronomical observatories, science museums, planetariums, and educational centers all over Japan. This network is maintained by the Public Information Office, National Astronomical Observatory, as a part of education and spread of astronomy to the general public. We introduce this network as one of the complementary way in the education in astronomy, to the Internet.
