Abstract
South Africa is a third world country, and as such suffers problems associated with limited resources, all of which have an impact on education. However the situation was exacerbated by the old apartheid policies, and their effects are still felt by the nation on a daily basis. In this talk I outline the vast problems we (in South Africa) have in education (science education in particular) today,
and at the attempts being made to solve them.
