Abstract
A few weeks work and a few hundred dollars transformed our 70-year old physics lab ceiling into a poor man's planetarium. While it is no rival for the very good Newark Planetarium just downtown, it does offer our students a handy guide to the motions of the heavenly bodies. Certainly more important, it is full of oddities that few students can resist asking about. It is a great conversation piece and a thought provoker.
