Abstract
The material in the book was drawn from the writer’s eight years of experience in teaching telescope making in high schools and night schools, and ten years experience in manufacturing optical instruments commercially.
The method used to classify and organize the material was the procedure originated and taught by Dr. Claude C. Crawford of the School of Education of the University of Southern California. Dr. Crawford’s method, as used by the writer, consisted of two major steps, each of which was divided into a series of sub-steps. These steps are presented in the order used by the writer in writing the thesis.
