A Topical Approach to Astronomy for Nonspecialists
Abstract
The goals of a science course for nonscience students can
be adequately met with an astronomy course which is also
suitable for science majors. The replacement of the survey
approach by the topical approach in the course provides
greater coherence and meaning for the information presented.
A specific set of topics is presented and evaluated in relation to the goals of an astronomy course for nonspecialists.
