Abstract

In this article, published in Mercury (the popular-level magazine of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific), we review the first five years of the Journal "Astronomy Education Review" and discuss its role in professionalizing astronomy education, and making astronomy education research available free to astronomy education practitioners and other researchers.
