Education at the Pierre Auger Observatory: movies as a tool education in science education

Abstract

The broad mission of the International Collaboration at Pierre Auger Observatory (see Figure 42.1) in education and public relationships is devoted to encouraging and
supporting a wide range of outreach efforts to link schools and audiences with the Auger scientists and the science of cosmic rays, particle physics, astrophysics, and associated technologies. This presentation focuses on a very recent professional production of three educational videos (for children, teenagers and general audiences) and the use of new resources, such as 2-0 and 3-0 animation techniques, to teach and learn in sciences.
