Abstract
A brief history of activities to enhance ties between the amateur astronomer and professional astronomer communities, the formation of the AAS Working Group on Professional-Amateur Collaboration (WGPAC), its immediate and future goals, activities, and various issues concerning professional-amateur collaborations discussed during a lively session are described.
