Title

Insertion Of Astronomy As A High School Subject

Abstract

Astronomy is considered among the first sciences that man dominated, however, the basic skills for the construction of knowledge, relatively to the contents “Earth and the Universe” are not being developed properly for the majority of students concluding the high school level. The students are concluding this teaching cycle without proper knowledge of several subjects in the area of Astronomy, which are mandatory in the national Curricular National Parameters (PCN). Because of this discrepancy,
this work stresses the need of the incorporation of a specific subject of Astronomy in the high school, in
order to reduce the gap between what is taught and which should be taught.
