Abstract
This article deals with science education in Finland, concentrating mainly on the situation on university level. In this introductory section, I will give a short overview of the recent political and economical developments in my
country. I think this is necessary in order to understand the structure of our education system and to see its potential and future prospects. The last section lists sources for more information.
