Structure for a large enrolment, self-paced, mastery oriented astronomy course
Abstract
We describe the structure of a three-semester sequence of self-paced, mastery oriented astronomy courses developed at the University of South Carolina for nonscience majors. The
course as structured is able to handle large enrolments with a successful completion rate as high as in a lecture format. Factors leading to this success are considered.
