The NASA/RECON educational program in interactive information retrieval systems

Abstract

This paper presents the primary objectives, phases, methodologies, and completed results of the NASA/RECON Educational Project, a large-scale R&D program addressing transportable educational curricula in information systems. Focus is placed on needs analysis phase results, course development and pilot administration phase results, widespread distribution of the educational program. and statistical indicators of project success.
